Title: Cranberry-Apple Chutney

3cTart apples, peeled and diced
1cCranberries
1 1/4cSugar
1cBrown sugar
1cGolden raisins
1/2cCoarsely chopped walnuts or pecans
1/2cCider vinegar
1 Orange, sliced very thin and
  Halved
1/4tsEach: mace, curry powder,
  Cloves, allspice
1/4cPreserved ginger, chopped
4 Cloves garlic, peeled
1lgOnion, chopped
1/2tsSalt
1/4tsMustard seed

Combine all ingredients in a large heavy saucepan. and bring to a rolling boil, stirring constantly. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, stirring occasionally, until apples are tender and the syrup is very thick, almost caramelized. Ladle into hot sterilized 1/2 pint jars and seal. Process in a boiling water bath for 15 minutes. Cool and store in refrigerator after opening. Makes about 7 jars. Recipe by: Lon Hall 75236,732
